Using variable expressions with the Start and Assign nodes

To open the Variable Expression Builder tool, click the Add button (+ symbol) on the bottom of the Properties dialog box for the node.

Note: If you have a configuration property set up for js.compile in your GEN data area and the js.compile value is -1, you can use only predefined functions to evaluate variables using the Variable Expression Builder in the Start and Assign nodes. Newly defined functions will not evaluate correctly under this condition. Note that the JavaScript Expression Builder in the Assign node will still work as expected and new functions can be defined using that feature.

In versions 11.0.1.34 and later, the default value of js.compile is -1. For more information on this setting, see the Infor Process Automation Administration Guide.
