Modifying forms

Modifying forms in the Inbasket can also be done using the Configuration Console. For example, when creating a message, you may always want the message type to be a comment. Instead of instructing each user to select this option when adding a new message, you can go to the Configuration Console and force all messages to have the message type of "comment."

  1. Log in to the Infor Rich Client.
  2. Navigate to a work item and in the lower panel on the page select the Messages tab.
  3. Click the Create icon to open the message form.
  4. While your cursor is inside the form window, Press Ctrl + Shift and click to display the form information of what you are currently viewing.
  5. Click Configure.
  6. If you do not have a previous configuration for the form, a dialog box is displayed. Click Create.
  7. Select Message Type.
  8. In the Field Attributes section, specify this information:
    Initial Value

    Select Comment.

  9. If you want the field to be hidden, select Hidden. If you want the field to be visible but read-only, select Display Only.
  10. Save your changes.
Note: You may also want to make changes to the form that allows users to view the message, especially if those users have access to update existing messages.
