What Is E-Mail Validation?

The e-mail validation feature allows you to set up your system so that when users enter an e-mail address, such as part of a registration process, the e-mail address will be validated.

The validation process involves an e-mail being sent to the user. This e-mail contains a link to an e-mail validation page in the lsuserapp application. This page has a validation button that will verify that the user is the same user that registered, and the link sent out is a valid link for that registered user. Once verified, the system marks that user's e-mail address as verified.

You enable and disable the e-mail validation feature through the secadm utility.
