Methods for creating customized rules

There are multiple methods for customizing security classes. You can:
  • Access the user interface available through the Security Administration menu system which lets you step through the proposed changes. This method requires Infor Rich Client.
  • Directly edit LPL using an editor that allows for side-by-side comparison of the original rule against proposed updates and provides other helpful features. This method requires Security Administration for the web. The person creating the rules must have knowledge of LPL and the Landmark system.

Regardless of the method you choose, always start by making a copy of a class you want to change. For example, if Infor delivers a class that is close to what you need, copy the delivered class and make updates to the copy.

The editing environment for Security Administration for the web is identical to that of Configuration Console for the web. General information about working with the Configuration Console for the web and with LPL can be found in these publications which are contained in the Landmark documentation set:
  • Configuration Console Web UI User Guide
  • Landmark Pattern Language (LPL) Guide
