Purging User Notifications

Use this procedure to purge user notifications if users have allowed them to accumulate or you are concerned about the excessive space being used to store the notifications. You can purge notifications for all actors or for a specific actors.

To purge user notifications

  1. In the Infor Rich Client, search for UserNotification and click UserNotification when it appears in the result list.
  2. On the Notifications list form, select either Purge Notifications or Purge Notifications For Actor.
  3. If you selected Purge Notifications, consider the following fields:
    Thru Date

    Enter a date to indicate how far back you want to purge notifications.

    Purge Offset Days

    Enter the number of days before the present that you want to purge notifications.

    Include Unread

    Select this check box to also purge unread notifications.

    Physically Delete

    Select this check box to delete the notifications from the system. If you do not select this check box, the notifications will be marked as deleted but will still be retained.

  4. If you selected Purge Notifications For Actor, consider the following fields:
    Actor

    Select the actor (user) for whom you want to purge notifications.

    Thru Date

    Enter a date to indicate how far back you want to purge notifications for the actor.

    Purge Offset Days

    Enter the number of days before the present that you want to purge notifications for the actor.

    Include Unread

    Select this check box to also purge unread notifications for the actor.

    Physically Delete

    Select this check box to delete the actor's notifications from the system. If you do not select this check box, the notifications will be marked as deleted but will still be retained.

  5. Click Schedule if you want to schedule the purge. Otherwise, click OK to start the purge immediately.
