Application Server Administration Considerations

The following considerations apply to the deployment and administration of Landmark-based applications.

  • The application server console administers the web server and enterprise applications.

  • WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment profiles create the Landmark run-time, or execution, environment.

Before installing the Landmark Environment, create a profile for each Environment you will install and federate the profile and its node agent into the Deployment Manager cell.

The initial deployment of Landmark files to the application server is completed by the installation process. During the installation process, the node name is supplied to the installer, which then retrieves the server names from the WebSphere application server. All delivered modules are mapped to each server in the WebSphere application server configuration.

When the installation is complete, the \lawson-environmentname-libraries directory in the profile home directory will contain the library .jar files specific to the Landmark Environment.

As part of the Landmark installation, the deployed modules are mapped to the servers where you want them to run. Deploying and Mapping Landmark Environment and Application Modules
