Starting and Stopping the Grid Through the Grid Management Pages

Use these procedures to stop and start the entire Lawson Grid for Landmark through the Grid Management Pages.

Note that there is a variety of ways to stop and start individual Landmark-related grid nodes.

  • Stop and start the entire grid.

If you stop the entire grid through the Stop button in the Grid Management Pages, all nodes except the grid agent are shut down. When you restart the grid, all nodes that are set to start automatically are restarted.

  • Use stoplaw and startlaw.

When you run stoplaw, the Landmark grid application is placed in an off-line state and all Landmark-related nodes are shut down except the ManageLandmark and DSSOSessionProvider nodes. When you run startlaw, the Landmark nodes are restarted.

  • Use adminlaw.

The adminlaw command will start or stop nodes so that only the Lase, Lads, ManageLandmark, and DSSOSessionProvider nodes are running. This command is appropriate, for example, during a Landmark update process.

  • Use the Stop, Admin, and Start buttons on the Landmark management page for the environment.

Using these buttons is very similar to using the stoplaw, adminlaw, and startlaw commands, with one difference. The Stoplaw button, in contrast to the stoplaw command, does not shut down the ManageLandmark node.

  • Stop and start individual nodes.

You can stop and start individual nodes through the managegrid command and through the Landmark management page for th environment.
