Application and Web Server Overview
Landmark applications execution occurs within a J2EE application server environment. The application servers offer improved administration capabilities, including distributed load levelling, performance monitoring, and remote administration.
Landmark also uses a servlet container to deploy web-facing applications, such as Supplier Space, similar to the Infor Lawson System Foundation architecture.
Landmark uses the WebSphere Application Server (WAS) Network Deployment (WASND) Manager to deploy and run Landmark enterprise applications. The Deployment Manager provides a central administration console for entire WAS enterprise, and allows for a distributed, hierarchically maintained multiple process implementation. The ability to support multiple processes (in this case JVMs) is important when supporting scaled workloads on large memory server systems and to enable Landmark environments (installations) on a single server system to share a single IBM WebSphere installation in a cooperative manner.
