Changing user passwords in Infor Rich Client

This procedure describes how to set user passwords using Infor Rich Client.

You might use this procedure if you need to change a password for an auxiliary service that is part of Lawson and has its own password (for example, the MISocket service for M3 customers). You might also need to use this procedure if your administrator has reset your password for the Lawson system as a whole and now requires you to change it. (In this case, you would log in initially using a password supplied by your administrator.)

In all cases, if you are not sure whether you should perform this procedure or if the system prompts you for information, such as service name, that you are unsure of, contact your system administrator.

  1. To change a password in , Infor Rich Client click Start > Applications > Process Server Administrator > Administration > System Administration > Lawson Security User Management.

    Continue with step 3.

  2. To change your password through a URL, type

    http:YourServer:port/lsuserapp/controller.servlet?dataarea=gen

    where

YourServer:port = Your Infor Landmark installation location

    Note:

If you think you will need to change your passwords frequently, you can make a bookmark to the URL.

  3. From the Lawson Security User Management window, click View Identity List.

The Identity List window is displayed.

If you have other identities for other services, such as the OS or MISocket Service, they will be listed in the Identity List window. You can also change passwords for those identities. The steps are the same.

  4. Select the identity you want and click Actions > Change Password.

The Change My Password window is displayed.

  5. Enter your current password and then enter and confirm the new password.
  6. Click Next.
  7. You will receive a success message. Click Exit.
