Installing and Configuring the Database

Install the database and complete the preliminary configuration before installing the Environment. Create databases to hold Environment (GEN) and applications data using tools provided by the database vendor.

Make the following decisions. Will you:

• Use single or multiple filegroups?

• Define the filegroups yourself, or let Microsoft SQL Server define them?

• Separate data and indexes?

• Use static or dynamic ports?

Record key values such as the path and database name when installing the database. These values are required during installation.

The Infor Landmark Technology Installation Guide indicates the required database versions, additional required or optional products to install, and any required database settings that you need to set during installation.
