How Are Infor Lawson System Foundation Database Tables Integrated with Infor Landmark Technology?
A database view of Infor Lawson System Foundation data can be made available so
that it can be read, used, and updated by Infor Landmark Technology applications.
Database tables from applications supported by Infor Lawson System Foundation must be
designated as IsView
in the Infor Landmark Technology data area
deployment file and reorganized into a Infor Landmark Technology database space. What Are Data Area Attributes?
Both database schemas should be placed in the same SID, for performance reasons, ease of recovery and backup, and to avoid a two-phase commit.
When a table is set to IsView, all updates to the data structure must be made manually; the database reorganization utility is not able to drop or create an Is View table.
Any time data structure changes are made in tables supported by Infor Lawson System Foundation that are configured as database views for Infor Landmark Technology, the LPL repository for the table must be regenerated and the Landmark database reorganized as well.
Granting User Access to Integrated Tables
If the LOGINNAME and PASSWORD parameters in the Infor Landmark Technology Environment %LARUNDIR%\dataarea\db.cfg
file match the values for those same parameters in
the Infor Lawson System Foundation
%LAWDIR%\DATAAREA\MICROSOFT
file, you do not need to grant any
additional permissions to the Infor Landmark Technology database user in order
to view tables created by the Infor Lawson System Foundation.
If these values do not match, you can use the Infor Landmark Technology
buildschemaviewperms
utility to generate a script that will
grant the permissions needed for access. This script must be run after
every change that occurs in the Infor Lawson System Foundation database that requires
a dictionary build or database reorganization. For information on granting permissions, see Granting Permissions to Lawson System Foundation Tables in Landmark
