Configure a time zone for effective date requests

You can include a time zone on forms that allow effective-dated requests. If effective time zone is configured on a form and time zones have been activated, a user creating a future effective dated request will be presented with a time zone select.

To allow the input of the time zone for future scheduling, add the LPL keywords effective time zone to forms and define the list of time zones to choose from.

Initially, all time zones except the default time zone are set to inactive.

  1. In the Infor Rich Client, access the Configuration Console.
  2. Add Effective Time Zone to an application form that allows future dated requests.
    1. Locate the application form you want to add a time zone select to.
    2. Create a configuration.

On the form, press Ctrl + Shift + left-mouse-click and click the Configure link to create a configuration, or note the business class information and create the configuration from the Configuration Console menu.

    3. Edit the LPL. Type effective time zone under effective date.
    4. Save your changes.
  3. Activate the time zone or time zones you want users to be able to select in the Effective Time Zone field.
    1. In Configure Application, select Data Area > Time Zones.
    2. Locate and select the time zone record you want to make active.
    3. Select Action > Update.
    4. Optional. Change the description if needed.
    5. Select In Use.
    6. Save the record.
    7. Activate other time zones as needed.

When users view the form, the Effective Time Zone field displays and includes all enabled time zones as options. The user can select a time zone and the system will trigger the request to become effective at midnight in the desired time zone. If the user does not select a time zone, the system will use the default time zone for the data area. If there is no default time zone, the system will use the server time.
