Accessing the Configuration Console

To access the Configuration Console in Infor Rich Client, you must have a security role that includes one of several security classes or their equivalent. Or, you must have a security role with certain configurable features enabled. For more information, see Infor Landmark Technology User Setup and Security.

Listed in the table are configuration tasks that you might want to perform and the relevant security classes or configurable features needed for those tasks.

Configuration task Description Configurable Features example security role
Application configuration (menus, pages, lists, forms, MIME types, business classes, and so on) To modify application objects, a user must have the GlobalUIConfigAccess_ST security class or its equivalent.

For MIME type configuration, a user also needs access to the la module and the MimeType business class.

Configuration Enabled

If enabled, the role can access Configuration Console for application configurations. This replaces the GlobalUIConfigAccess_ST security class.

ConfigurationAccess_ST
Security class configuration To modify security classes, a user must have the SecurityConfigAccess_ST and the ConfigAdminAccess_ST security classes or their equivalents.

Your application may have additional security roles, classes, or requirements. For example Infor Process Automation requires the ConfigConsoleSecurityAdmin_ST role, which includes the ConfigConsoleSecurityAdmin_ST security class in addition to SecurityConfigAccess_ST and ConfigAdminAccess_ST.

Security Configuration Enabled

If enabled, the role can access the Configure Security console. This is the user interface only. It does not provide any access to the business classes. In other words, the actors still require the appropriate security roles and business classes. This does replace the SecurityConfigAccess_ST security class.

SecurityAdministrator_ST
Actor, identity, and roles for security To work with actors, identities, and roles, a user must have the SecurityConfigAccess_ST security class or its equivalent, as well as a security class that gives access to actors, identities, and roles, such as UserAdminAllAccess_ST.

(If a user has the UserAdminAllAccess_ST security class but not the SecurityConfigAccess_ST security class, that user can work with actors, identities, and roles outside of the Configuration Console.)

Web services configuration To create or modify web services through the Configuration Console, a user must have the GlobalUIConfigAccess_ST security class or its equivalent, plus access to the wsbuilder module and the WebService business class. Configuration Enabled

This replaces the GlobalUIConfigAccess_ST security class.

ConfigurationAccess_ST

Access the Configuration Console in Infor Rich Client.

Note:  Administrators and power users who use Configuration Console for application and security configurations may need Infor Rich Client installed on their local desktops. Infor provides an executable file that will install the Infor Rich Client UI on a user's desktop. Find the links for your environment on the Application & System Links page in Administration Console. If you are not an administrator, ask your administrator to share the link to the installer with you.
  1. Log in to the Infor Rich Client.
  2. Select Start > Configure.

The options in the Configure submenu depend on the security classes and roles assigned to you.

  3. In the Configure menu, select the type of configuration you want to work with: Application, Security, or Web Services.

The Configuration Console displays a slightly different screen for application, security, or web services.
