Data replication overview

Data replication is a Landmark feature that enables you to copy selected data to several different targets and schedule updates to the replicated data based only on what data has changed.

The target of the data replication can be the an FTP directory or a file system directory. The data format can be JSON, XML,or CSV. There is an additional format, columnar, which is used to replicate data to columnar store tables.

The replicated data can be used for a variety of purposes such as archiving or analysis by business analytic solutions.

You determine what data is replicated by defining replication sets. You can also use predefined replication sets delivered by Landmark applications (though there may be restrictions on the changes you can make to these replications sets).

To handle the processing of replications, Landmark includes an async queue called the Data Replication Queue. The various replication actions are mapped to this queue. In addition, queue mapping fields are delivered that enable you to fine-tune the mappings if desired.
