Configuring the Trigger node

  1. On the General tab, specify this information:
    Configuration name

    Select the configuration that you want to be used for this activity. If you want to use an existing configuration, select a name from the list. If you leave the field blank, the default configuration will be used.

    Trigger type
    Note: 

    If the Trigger node encounters the User Action, HRTM User Action, or Wait node in the triggered workunit, the Trigger node will continue with the flow even if the node triggers the workunit synchronously.

    Select from these options:

    • Process Async: triggered by the process asynchronously

    • Process Sync: triggered by the process synchronously

    • Service Async: triggered by the service asynchronously

    • Service Sync: triggered by the service synchronously

    Service/Process

    Depending on the trigger type you selected, select from the Service or Process list.

    System

    Specify the product name, for example, ERP or Services Automation.

    Sub-system

    Specify the product line, data area, or any other criteria which filters a service.

    Category key

    If categories are used, specify the key data for the category.

    Category value

    The name of the category value available to filter the workunit from the user Inbasket queue based on a category match

    This field is followed by the category label.

    Apps key

    If the service requires key data from the application, populate with the appropriate key.

    Apps value

    If the service requires values from the application, populate with the appropriate values.

    User id

    The user who triggers a service

    Work title

    The description of the trigger node

    Criteria 1, 2, 3

    The values for the criteria for the service as defined on the Service Definition

  2. Click the Process Variables tab. This tab allows you to select which variables you want to pass on to the child process. When the child process runs, it will have access to all the variables selected on this tab.

    The New variables section allows you to add new variables to pass.

  3. On the New variables section, click the Add button to open the Variable Expression Builder dialog box. Specify this information:
    Variable name

    Specify the name of the variable.

    Variable type

    Select the variable type from the list.

    Variable value

    Create a JavaScript expression. See Creating JavaScript expressions using the Variable Expression Builder tool.

  4. On the Start activity and service variables section, select which of the existing variables you would like to pass.

    • If you want to pass all existing variables, select Pass all.

    • If you want to pass only some of the variables, select the variables from the table.

  5. On the On Error tab, specify this information:
    What should happen on an error?

    Select from the available options.

    Notify

    Select the check box if you want to send a notification when an error occurs. If this option is selected, you must fill out the notification details.

    Custom log entry

    Select the check box if you want a custom log entry in addition to the system-generated log entry.
