Configuring basic authentication for a Web Service connection

Processes that use the Web Service activity node may require users to log in through HTTP. Use this procedure to create a configuration for a web service process that enables basic authentication.

  1. Access the Process Server Administrator and select Configuration > System Configuration.
  2. On the System Configuration page, select the configuration set for which to create a web service configuration.

    For example, to add the web service configuration to the main configuration set, double-click main or select main and then click Actions > Update.

  3. Click the Web Service tab.
  4. Click New.
  5. Specify this information.
    Connection Timeout (Seconds)

    Specify the number of seconds the IPA server should wait when establishing connection with the Web Service server.

    Request Timeout (Seconds)

    Specify the number of seconds allowed for the IPA server to read the response from the Web Service server.

    Authentication

    Select Basic Authentication if the Web Service uses Basic Authentication to authenticate.

    Select WS Security if the Web Service uses WS Security to authenticate.

  6. Click Save.
