Overview of User Configuration menu

The User Configuration sub-menu of the Infor Process Automation (IPA) Administrators main menu has three options: Users, Tasks, and Filters. This topic explains what you can do from each of these menu options. Additional topics explain how to use the features described here.

Users sub-menu

The Users sub-menu is for:

  • Adding existing Lawson users to the IPA system.

  • Assigning tasks to IPA users.

  • Enabling filter for a user (if this was not done when the user was created).

  • Linking tasks to filters.

  • Assigning User Category values to filters. User categories are the actual filter values that IPA looks for when it determines which users and tasks to assign work to. You create categories by typing in values (if a particular value previously did not exist) or by selecting an existing value.

Tasks

The task menu is for:

  • Creating new tasks.

  • Enabling filtering for a task (if this was not done when the task was created).

Filters

The Filters menu is for creating new filters. Creating a filter simply means assigning a name and then saving. Linking a filter to a user or a task and assigning category values to a filter is done through the Users or Tasks menu.
