Creating Roles

Use this procedure to create a role using the secadm utility.

Note: 

If your system is configured to use user BODs, make sure the role exists in Infor Ming.le (IFS) before assigning users to it.

To create a role using secadm

  1. In the Infor Rich Client, access the User Management application, and then Role Management. On the Roles List, select Actions > Create, and then create a record using the fields described below.

    At a Landmark command prompt, type

    secadm role add role

    where

    Option Infor Rich Client Fields Description
    role Role The name of the role to add.
    Description A description for the role.
    Proxyable

    Select the check box to make the role proxable, that is, eligible for use with the user proxy feature where one user's roles can be temporarily assigned to another user.

    To set this feature through secadm, use the following syntax:

    secadm role updateproxable role true | false
  2. If you are using any other Landmark application, stop and restart the application to implement the changes.
