Overview of Application Data Copying Process

The goal of copying application data is to move the data for an application in one Landmark environment to another Landmark environment such that the Landmark application in the second environment is equivalent to the one in the first environment. This involves more than copying only the data for the application. Because a Landmark application also interacts with security and user data, you must take steps to synchronize the encryption and set up equivalent actors and identities. In addition, if your Landmark system and the Landmark application you are copying data from are connected to an Infor Lawson System Foundation environment, you must copy additional data for the Lawson Enterprise application.

Note:

You can use this procedure for copying Landmark application data in the following three scenarios. It is also possible to copy application data for scenarios that are a mix of those listed below, such as from a federated system to a standalone system.

  • Your Landmark system is a standalone Landmark system (that is, its applications are not connected to Lawson Enterprise applications) and you are copying from one standalone Landmark system to another standalone Landmark system.

  • Both the system you are copying from and the system you are copying to are Landmark systems federated to Infor Lawson System Foundation systems and the Landmark applications are connected to Lawson Enterprise applications, but the federation was not created by using Infor Security Services (ISS). Instead, it was created through the procedure described in "Exporting Infor Lawson System Foundation User Definitions for Infor Landmark Technology" in the Infor Landmark Technology Installation Guide.

  • Both the system you are copying from and the system you are copying to are Landmark systems federated with Infor Lawson System Foundation systems through Infor Security Services (ISS).
