Configuring Database Users

Lawson applications can access the database as the lawson user or as the individual user who logged on and made a request for data. Create a method of access that fits your security and auditing needs any time after installing the database.

When configuring database users, do the following:

  • Using tools provided by the database vendor, create the database user(s) that you want to access the database and assign them any privileges outlined in this guide.

Please refer to the "Granting Database User Permissions (Oracle Only)" topic in the Infor Landmark Technology Installation Guide for granting privileges/roles to users for Landmark.

  • Create the Landmark users who will access the database, using the Security Administration utility (secadm).

  • Create an Environment (GEN) database user for each Environment.

  • Create the login scheme for the database user(s), either USE_USER_ID or USE_PRIVILEGED_ID.

  • Edit the database interface configuration file (db.cfg) and add the appropriate parameter settings for your method of access.

  • Create and configure the database service, assign the login scheme to the database service, and assign the database identity to the login scheme, using the Security Administration utility.
