Setting up event weighting

You can set up weighting at the event level or the event line level, or both. To default the weighting setup into a new event, you can use event templates or create a new event from an existing event with weighting set.

To set up event weighting

  1. Create a new or update an existing event.
  2. Select the Weighting tab. Use the following guidelines to enter field values.
    Default Event Weighting To Lines

Select this field to default the weighting percent for price, delivery, and diversity set here to the event lines when they are created.

Question weighting does not default to lines because header and line weighted questions are defined separately from each other.

    Delivery Weighting

Delivery weighting is only done for event lines with PO output, because other output types do not require or allow a requested delivery date.

Enter a weighting percent for delivery and also select As Soon As Possible (default) or On Requested Delivery Date.

If you select On Requested Delivery Date, a Score Allocation field displays where you can define a score for suppliers who cannot meet the requested delivery date, but you don't want to give zero points for delivery scoring.

    Buyer Weighting

Buyer weighting allows the user to define weighting criteria for suppliers by percentage.

Enter weighting percentages for the available criteria.

Score Allocation For Non Diverse Suppliers

Use this field to determine how many points to give for diversity weighting if the supplier is not a diverse supplier.

    Question Weighting

This display only field is an accumulation of weighting from each question for the event.

  3. Set up questions for weighting.
    • Update existing or create new questions on the Questions tab.

    • Questions used for weighting must be List, Yes No, or Yes No Text type.

    • Save new questions and the weighting field will display.

    • Enter the Question Weighting value.

    • Enter a score allocation for at least one answer in the Answer tab for the question.

  4. Optional. On the Weighting tab for lines, there is an option to designate a weighting override percentage on each line for event weighting for price and delivery.

On the event level, results are weighed from each line evenly. But you may want to weigh one line more heavily than the others.

  5. The total weighting percent must total 100 percent in order to release the event.
  6. Click Save.
