Creating an event from requisitions

Any requisition line can be sent to Strategic Sourcing and be generated into an event or appended to an existing event. Requisitions can be flagged using the Sourcing Event field on requisition lines (on Classes/Code) on Requisitions (RQ10.1) or Requisitions Center. Requisition lines can also be flagged using the Event function code on Purchase Order Worksheet (PO23.1). Requisitions must have completed any approval processes before they will be sent to Strategic Sourcing.

Since you send each line you may elect to only send part of a requisition and not the entire requisition.

Events from requisitions default to an output type of PO, which cannot be changed.

One requisition may generate multiple events, or multiple requisitions may be combined into one sourcing event. Strategic Sourcing inquires on multiple fields on a requisition line to determine if they should be combined into one event line. If each of the following fields match on a requisition line, the lines are combined into one event line: ItemNumber, ItemType, ServiceCode, ItemDescription, ItemDescription2, UOM, Quantity, ShipTo, DistributionType, SegmentBlock.
