About event awards and the approval process

Event awards let a buyer award one or more event lines to a supplier. Approved by one or more people, event awards (and award approval) can be performed on a line-by-line basis.

After a buyer finalizes an award, the application sends an e-mail notification to the first person in the approval process. The first person in the approval process may represent an individual or a group and is usually assigned a Buyer Manager or Administrator role. To approve an event, persons in the approval process must have specific security permissions.

In most cases, approvals are performed through the process server and Infor Process Automation. The approval requires an event to go through three approval levels before it can proceed to the next status.

Your organization can create your own process server process files using Lawson Process Administration. You can also manually approve event awards if Lawson Process Server is unavailable.
