About sealed bids
A sealed bid is a supplier response to a formal event and cannot be viewed until the event closing date has passed.
A buyer who sets up the event document can also set a flag that indicates that a response to an event is sealed. The buyer can then view the number of responses on the event listing but not the actual response. If supplier questions are allowed for the event, they are managed the same as a non-sealed bid event.
A buyer cannot manually provide input on behalf of a supplier for a sealed bid until the response period closes. In this case, a supplier bid remains unopened until the response period closes. The buyer can then manually input a response before awarding the event.
If the event is cancelled before the closing date, any responses to the event remained sealed. After the event closes, the sealed-bid responses can be viewed and managed the same as for a non-sealed event.
