Creating products for a recall notice
You can create multiple products for a recall notice. A product is associated with a group of Lawson items, which can be derived from product identifiers such as manufacturer number, vendor item, GTIN, UPC, UPN, SKU, or NDC.
To create products for a recall notice
- On a notice, access the Products tab.
- From the Actions menu, select Create.

On Create Product, define the general product information. Use the following guidelines to enter field values.

Required. If you create a product from a notice, the notice information will default.
- Product

Required. Type a product identifier.
- Description

Type a product description.
Note:Third party sources of recall information do not usually provide separate product information. Often, product data is provided in a single text field. If you import the notice from a third party, you can parse the product description field using the Parse Product Description action.

- Task Instruction

The task instruction will default from the header record.
Select a predefined instruction, which will be used on any tasks associated with the product.
These instructions tell the responder how to resolve their assigned task. Any questions associated with the task will appear on the questions tab when you save the product record.
- From the Actions menu, select Save.

Use product or equipment identifiers fields to determine item numbers.
Determining items from product information is critical for a successful transaction query. For more information, see Tips on determining items from product information.

Optional. If needed, create new items on the Items tab. This can be done by a simple Add of a Lawson Item, or by using the helper list to look through any Purchase Order lines (especially if you are looking for Special or even Service type items). This helper list allows you to enter wildcards for finding items using the any of the following:

Optional. Define serial and lot numbers on the Serial Numbers and Lot Numbers tabs.
You can use the Enter Serial Number Range and Enter Lot Number Range actions to create a range of numbers.
