Administrator setup tasks for Contract Management

You need to complete the following setup tasks so that contracts can be created and processed in Contract Management. The required setup involves initial setup in the S3 enterprise applications, as well as Contract Management setup.

Step Task Reference
1 Set up procurement groups and procurement company in Purchase Order (PO). Access Procurement Group (PO00.1). Procurement groups let you consolidate the purchasing for multiple companies. The procurement groups you create in Purchase Order must have the same ID as their associated enterprise groups in Contract Management. Also, access PO Company Setup (PO01.1) to set up your company. For more information, see the Purchase Order User Guide.
Set up buyers in Purchase Order (PO) and item groups in Inventory Control (IC).

Access Buyer (PO04.1) to set up buyers, including purchasing authority and limit. They are required for use with service agreements and standing agreements. For more information, see the Purchase Order User Guide.

Access Corporate Item Group (IC00.1) to set up item groups. For more information, see the Inventory Control User Guide.

Note:

Other standard setup processes for General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Purchase Order, and Inventory Control may be needed, these steps show only the requirements needed to use Contract Management.

2 Optional. Set up vendor items in Purchase Order (PO) and items in Inventory Control (IC).

Items and vendor items can be setup in Contract Management, but they can also be set up in S3 applications.

Access Vendor Item (PO13.1) in the Purchase Order application to optionally set up vendor items. Vendor items let you cross-reference a Lawson item with an item made by a vendor. For more information, see the Purchase Order User Guide.

Access Item Master (IC11.1) to set up items. You also need to set up your Inventory Control company and inventory locations by using Company (IC01.1) and Location (IC02.1), respectively. For more information, see the Inventory Control User Guide.
