About companies
Two types of companies are used in Contract Management, namely enterprise companies and contract companies. Their setup is optional .After you set up enterprise groups and contract groups, you can assign companies to them.
Enterprise companies
An enterprise company identifies the companies within an enterprise group. During setup, you add a default country to the company.
Be aware that an enterprise company is created within Contract Management, and does not need to be set up in the General Ledger application.
Contract companies
A contract company identifies the companies within a contract group. In fact, a contract company is the next highest level entity after contract group.
The enterprise company must be set up before the contract company.
Contract companies let you set security access to contracts by the company associated with contract classifications and subclassifications.
