About contacts and contact types

Contacts are used to identify the people who you work most closely with on a contract. When setting up a contact, you can type the person's contact information such as e-mail, telephone, and address information.

Contact types are used to gather contacts into groups and define the different roles that a contact may have during the lifetime of the contract.

For example, a contact type can be created to include all administration-related contacts or all supervisor-related contacts within a company. When setting up a contact type, you assign the type to a procurement group and define a title and description for the type.

Contacts are also used for the "Contact Us" functionality of Supplier Portal. Supplier Portal Contact Us lists all contacts associated with a supplier group.
