Creating questions

Follow these steps to create a question and decide whether it is to be used in the interview process, and whether an answer is required.

Before you can create a question, you must have already set up a procurement group in the Purchase Order application. For more information, see the Purchase Order User Guide.

If the new question is to used in an interview, the contract type and classification for the question must already exist.

To create questions

Search for "Questions".
From the Actions menu, select Create.
Use the following guidelines to enter field values:
Procurement Group

Required. Select a procurement group to which you want to assign the questions.

Question Text

Required. Type the text for the question.

Response Type
Required. Select a response type for the question:
- Text - Descriptive text
- Number - Numeric value
- Date - Date format
- List - Multiple choice answer (provide the available answers after adding the question)
- Yes No - Yes or No answer
- Yes No Text - Yes or No answer with additional descriptive text
- Rebate - Rebate types are used as answers (lets you link to other rebate information)
Category, Sub Category

Select a category to assign to the question. For information on categories, see Creating categories.

Note:
If you assign a category to the question, the procurement group must match the one assigned to the question.

Allow Attachment Upload with Answer

Indicate whether you allow a file to be attached to the question. For example, a file could contain a price list in Microsoft Excel spreadsheet format.

Active

Select this checkbox to make the question active.

Contract Type

Select a contract type for the question. For questions used in the interview process, a contract type is required.

Contract Classification

Select a contract classification for the question. For questions used in the interview process, a contract classification is required.

For information on contract classifications, see Creating contract classifications.

This Question will be Used in a Contract Interview

Select this checkbox to use the question during the interview process.

An Answer to this Question is Required Before a Contract can be Activated, or Before the Contract can be Released if Terms are Associated with the Question

Select this checkbox to require an answer to the question.

There is a Correct Answer for this Question

Select this checkbox to require a correct answer for the question.
Click Save.
