About tier members
In Lawson Contract Management, tier members are used to assign a company and location (or requesting location) to a contract tier.
Tier members are created automatically when members are created, and are eligible to receive a negotiated price on a manufacturer contract. After you have identified and created the contract members, tiered pricing, and tier qualifiers, you then assign the tier to a qualifying tier member.
A purchase method is defined at the tier member level so different companies or locations within an organization can determine whether they buy from a manufacturer or distributor. A purchase method is required for each tier member prior to performing the Release Members action.
A purchase method defines what type of contract a member purchases against. The options are Purchase From Manufacturer, Purchase From Distributor, Purchase From Mfg And Distributor, and Do Not Purchase From Mfg Or Distributor. A purchase method can be assigned to a Tier Member in one of the following ways:
-
A purchase method can be entered on a member group line. It then defaults to the Tier Member.
