Placing contracts and contract lines on hold
Contracts and contract lines can both be placed on hold (when the contract has a status of "In Progress"). For example, there is a dispute over a line item's cost, and you do not want to proceed with the contract until the issue is resolved. When a contract is on hold, its contract lines are also placed on hold automatically.
The current state of the contract remains the same and processing continues, with some limitations:

You cannot release or activate the contract until the hold is removed.

Contract lines cannot be taken off hold until their contract is taken off hold.

Contract lines cannot be taken off hold if some line items are inactive vendor items.

For an interfaced contract, its related vendor agreement and vendor agreement lines are also placed on hold.

You cannot default any costs from agreements when the contract is on hold.
When you are ready to take a contract off hold, you use the Remove Contract Hold action.
