Creating contract types

Perform these steps to set up a contract type in Lawson Contract Management.

Before you can set up a contract type, a contract group must already exist in Contract Management.

To create contract types

Search for "Contract Types".
From the Actions menu, select Create.

Select a contract group to which you want the contract type to be assigned, and the contract type you are creating. Type a description and indicate whether the contract type is Active.

Note:
Clear the check box if you want to deactivate an existing contract type. Be aware that an inactive contract type cannot be added to a contract.
On the Type Detail tab, use the following guideline to enter field values.
Vendor Agreement Type
If a contract associated with the contract type is intended to create a vendor agreement, indicate the type of vendor agreement that will be created, such as:
- Contract
- Blanket
- Standing
- Catalog Quote
- Service
If you leave this field blank, then the contracts assigned to this contract group will not be interfaced into the Purchase Order application.
Create Agreement Line

When a vendor agreement is created from a contract, indicate whether the contract line is to become an agreement line.

Allow Special Item On Agreement Line

Select this field to allow an item on a vendor agreement that can be used for cost defaulting to requisitions and purchase orders, but is not in the item master.
After you save the contract type information, you can optionally add a contract subtype.
On the Subtypes tab, select Create from the Actions menu. Use the following guidelines to enter field values.
Contract Subtype

Required. Type the name of the contract subtype.

Description

Required. Type the description of the contract subtype.

Active

Select this checkbox to make the contract subtype Active (the default).

Vendor Agreement Type
Decide which type of vendor agreement is to be created from a contract with this subtype.
- Contract
- Blanket
- Standing
- Catalog Quote
- Service
Click Save.
