Creating a cash transaction allocation code

An allocation code is a code used to default company, accounting unit and account to bank statement line distribution. One or more lines can be defaulted to the line distribution.

Note: 

If an allocation code is not needed, the Company, Accounting Unit, and Account can be defined directly on the Cash Transaction Category.

Note: 

The allocation code can only be used in Active status.

  1. Access Treasury Administrator > Cash Setup > Cash Transaction Setup > Allocation Codes.
  2. From the Actions menu, select Create.

    Use the following guidelines to enter field values:

    Code used to default company, accounting unit, and account to bank statement line distribution

    Description of the allocation code

    Allocation Type
    • Account Only - select this option to default GL account information with no amount. Type the total distributed amount in the Control Total field.

    • Amount - select this option to default GL Account information and a specified amount.

    • Percent - select this option to default GL account information and a system calculated percentage of the line amount.

    Active

    Indicates if the allocation code is active or not

  3. Click Save.

    Allocation Details tab appears.

  4. Create allocation details.
    1. From the Actions menu, select Create.
    2. Click the line under Company and click the arrow to select a company from the list.
    3. Click the line under Accounting Unit and click the arrow to select an accounting unit from the list.
    4. Click the line under Account and click the arrow to select an account from the list.
    5. Click the line under Activity and click the arrow to select an activity from the list. An activity is the task being performed for a project. Activity selection is optional and only required if the distributed is posted to a project.
    6. If you select Amount as the allocation type, enter an amount for each distribution line. The total must equal the amount in the Control Total field. If you select Percent as the allocation type, enter a percent for each distribution line. The total must be 100%.
    7. Click the line under Comment and click the arrow to add a comment.
    8. Click Save.
