Company Data overview

A Company is a working environment in which you can carry out logistic or financial transactions. All transaction data is stored in the company's database. Tax Engine can support multicompany or an environment whose structure consists of multiple logistics and financial companies. In this regard, one unique Tax Engine installation can support several companies.

Each company has its own database tables. All data that you define and work with in the Company is stored in the company's database tables.

For example, company data includes:

  • Currencies

  • Units of measure and the base units

  • Departments

  • Business partners

  • Item codes

  • Sales orders

  • Purchase orders

  • Invoices

  • Projects

Companies

Depending on the type of data that the company controls, the company is:

  • A logistic company

  • A financial company

  • A logistic and a financial company

In a multisite structure, some of the database tables can be unique for the company, and the company can share other database tables with other companies.

Tenants

Tenants provide business entity combination to link the external Tax Engine to a specific company. In the BODs, the Tenant, together with Accounting entity and Location, defines which company the Tax Engine will use to calculate taxes and store data.
