Item data overview

Items are the raw materials, subassemblies, finished products, tools, and nonphysical items that can be purchased, stored, manufactured, sold and so on. An item can also represent items that are handled as one set or exist in multiple product variants.

Item data is needed to generate Invoice lines and calculate taxes in Tax Engine. The Item Master Data is generated through the ItemMaster BODs. When the Tax Engine receives, for example, an item data from an SOR, the item code from SOR is written as Identification code and a new internal code is created. It is necessary because Tax Engine can have integration with another system, and each system will have a different length of item code. Note, however, that this applies only if Master Data parameters for item are set to use the Tax Engine Item series.

Inside Tax Engine, the internal item code is used. On the return BDE XML, the identification code is used.

In addition to Item data that is integrated through the ItemMaster BOD, you can specify additional attributes for each Item record.
