Administrative toolbar

The administrative toolbar is displayed at the top of the Smart Notifications user interface. Each button accesses separate Smart Notification functionality as described here.

Options and Add

The Options and Add buttons are available in the Notifications, Reminders, and Files screens. In addition, Options is available in Activity.

  • Options: Opens a selection of links to tasks related to the screen you are in.

  • Add: Adds a new notification, reminder or file.

Notifications

Available to end-users and administrators.

Notifications are graphical reports containing important data. Recipients receive notifications based on the context of the data.

The notifications are displayed in one table or are grouped into separate tables. Each table has identical column titles:

Column name Function
Name The name of the group
Value

Multiple: If the alert delivers multiple rows of content.

Numeric value: If the alert delivers a single data value (for example, KPI) the current value is displayed here.

Owner

Blank: User does not own the alert definition

Check: User owns the alert definition

Schedule When the notification is sent or what causes a notification to be sent.
Deliver To Device used for delivery to the end-user.
Actions

If you are the owner the Edit link is displayed.

X enables the user to unsubscribe to the alert. If the owner selects X the alert definition is deleted.

The advanced toolbar contains these buttons:

Button Function
Hide Groups

Hide groups: Lists notifications without groups.

Show groups: Lists notification by group.

Refresh Refreshes the interface.
Subscribe Subscribe to notifications that the administrator has selected the user to receive.
Subscribe To More Subscribe to any notifications that are available.

Reminders

Available to end-users and administrators.

Reminders are brief notices to the recipient. The reminder contains the name of the recipient, when the notification is scheduled to be delivered, the device used for delivery, and options for editing or deleting the reminder.

The advanced toolbar is also available in the reminders screen.

Files

Available to end-users and administrators.

The Files screen contains names of documents, URLs, or notes. You can view the name of the file, a brief description, file type, and actions for editing or deleting the file.

Personal Settings

Available to end-users and administrators.

The Personal Settings screen shows:

  • Personal Info includes your full name, job title, department, location, and contact information.

  • General Info contains settings for your notification.

  • Add/Edit shows three buttons to access functionality of Delivery Devices, Data Values, and Templates.

  • My Interest Areas shows information that you selected using the add or edit buttons.

Activity

Available to end-users and administrators.

Activity contains the activity report for alerts and devices. The Get Report tab contains options you can specify in your report. You can select a specific timeframe, alert, and device. The Clear Events tab contains a calendar where you can specify a date to clear events prior to.

Search

Available to end-users and administrators.

Search enables you to search for information contained in Smart Notification. You can specify content in the search box, select what you want to view, and what kind of match you want to make.

Admin

Available only to administrators or users granted some administrative rights or tasks.

The Admin screen lists all the administrative functionality available in Smart Notification.
