Burst a notification that has a hierarchy calculation

If your notification has a hierarchy calculation and you select this table and column you will have additional options for how to generate recipients.

These options will let you specify recipients relative to the employees in the data, for example, to the supervisors of the employees, or relative to the top of the organization, for example, to the third and fourth levels of the hierarchy.

If you select this option, it will generate the notifications based on the recipients in the table selected, but not show the rows of data from that table in the delivered content. You would use this option when you have one master table that lists all of the recipients and other tables that break the data to be delivered into different categories, for example, by priority or by due date.

Create a notification and select data from the InfoSet that includes the employee, or other, IDs
On the Notifications wizard, go to the Bursting tab.
Select the table containing the IDs.
Select the column that contains the IDs. The column will have a HIER prefix.
Check the box for Hide the table selected above.
For Generate email addresses by, select Looking up addresses using an InfoSet.
Select the appropriate InfoSet and email column.
To test the actions of the bursting prior to delivering emails to any recipients, or to monitor the content being sent to recipients of bursting, select one of these delivery options:
- Deliver to the recipients
  Notifications will only be delivered to the recipients identified in the data.
- Deliver to the recipients and copy to devices selected on 'Device' tab
  If you select one or more devices on the Device tab, those devices will receive a copy of each notification as they are sent to the recipients.
- Deliver only to devices selected on 'Device' tab
  If you select one or more devices on the Device tab, those devices will receive the content that would normally be sent to the recipients.
Save the notification.
