Working with files

The Smart Notification files feature enables you to upload:

  • Files
  • URLs
  • Textual notes

After uploading the content, it can be categorized, related, and shared in exactly the same way as notifications. For example, users can jump directly from a notification to relevant product plans, sales spreadsheets, or web pages that helps them explore a problem area or opportunity fully and be able to collaborate and make timely and well-informed decisions.

The files feature also has these advantages:

  • Content is easy to find and leverage using built-in categorization and auto-relate features for associating related content.
  • A file can be any type of file that is stored on your computer. For example, a document, spreadsheet, or presentation.

You can upload as many files as you want, make them available to other users or groups of users, and categorize them so that they can be found and related to other content.

  • A URL is a link to any web address. For example, a link to a mapping web site to provide directions to an office location, a link to your corporate intranet site for product marketing, or a link to launch a web or HTML-based application.

You can upload as many URLs as you want, make them available to other users or groups of users, and categorize them so that they can be easily found and related to other content.

  • Notes are a great way to quickly document business knowledge.

For example, a note explaining that a particular retail outlet was closed on a particular day due to a power outage can be instantly available as an explanation to anyone wondering why sales were down on that day.
