Facts and ranges

Facts and ranges are the data displayed on your notifications. After you specify facts and ranges in the InfoSet, you can then apply calculations and conditions to modify how they are displayed on your notification.

Facts

A fact is a single number selected from an InfoSet.

For example, if your InfoSet is Product Sales by Region, you can specify Total Sales for the Eastern Region as a fact. After saving a fact, you can search for it in Step 1 of the Notification wizard and choose to include it in another notification.

Ranges

Ranges are facts that you select from an InfoSet.

For example, if your InfoSet is Product Sales by Region, you can build a range to reflect average daily sales by company and location. When you build a range, you select data based on the measures and keys you specified in the InfoSet.
