Adding or modifying general information

Use this procedure to add or modify general information.

To add or modify any general information

  1. Click Personal Settings.
  2. Complete the general information fields.
    Enable Advanced Conditions

    Select this check box to turn on the Advanced Options on Step 2 of the Notifications wizard by default.

    Note: 

    These options can be turned on and off by clicking the Show/Hide Advanced Options link near the top right of the page on Step 2 of the Notifications wizard.

    Use Browser Option to Search

    Select this check box to have Smart Notification automatically open the browser every time a user goes to Step 1 of the Notifications wizard.

    Sort Search Results by Type

    Select this check box to require that Smart Notification groups content returned by searches to be grouped according to Type. For example, InfoSets separately from Conditions.

    If you clear this check box, Smart Notification lists content alphabetically.

    Peace of Mind Notification

    Have certain types of notifications delivered to you on a scheduled basis.

    Peace of Mind Notifications can be separately set for these items:

    • Priority Items These are notifications designated as a priority items in Step 5 of the Notifications wizard.

    • Decisions A list of the status of decisions.

    • What's New A list of new notifications added to the system and available to subscribe to.

    For each of these items, you can choose Daily, Weekly, or Monthly delivery.

    Start Page

    Specify the page Smart Notification displays after you log in.

    Results Per Page

    Specify how many items are listed per page in search results and other areas.

    When Saving Notifications

    Specify if a notification is evaluated after it is saved.

    Evaluating a notification means Smart Notification checks the notification's conditions against current InfoSet data (as opposed to checking them the next time the InfoSet is updated).

    • Do Not Evaluate Smart Notification does not check the conditions in your notification until the next time the data is updated. In the meantime, Smart Notification displays the notification on the Notification page with no status to indicate whether or not it has tripped.

    • Evaluate Smart Notification checks the conditions in your notification immediately and shows the status on the Notification page. However, Smart Notification does not deliver the notification to any delivery devices until after the next time the data is updated and a condition has tripped.

    • Evaluate and Deliver Smart Notification checks the conditions in your notification immediately, displays the status on the Notification page, and delivers the notification to any delivery devices specified if a condition has tripped.

    Time Zone

    Displays the time zone Smart Notification is using.

    The system uses this setting to determine when to send notifications to devices if you have muting periods set. This setting is also used to determine when to send reminders.

    Change the time zone in Framework Services. For more information, see the Framework Services Administrator and User Guide.

    Default Search Value

    Type the search text to appear as the default search text in the search box in Step 1 of the Notifications wizard.

    Default search text is useful if you commonly search for the same information. For example, Cola Sales in Orlando.

    Wireless and Voice Access

    Specify a numeric ID and numeric PIN to log onto the system from a cell phone, other wireless device, or via a voice interface.

    A numeric ID and numeric PIN are not required to email notifications to a cell phone or other wireless device. The ID and PIN are only required to access the system interactively while using these devices.
