Maintaining report permissions

Administrators can set default report permissions at a global level with all new reports published taking on these permissions. Administrators and users with administrative rights can override permissions at the report level without those changes reflected at the global level.

The following permissions are set by default:

  • Ability to view the latest instance
  • Ability to view a report
  • Ability to print a report

Administrators can still modify the permissions for any user, copy default permissions from an existing report, and return the report to previous default permissions status.

  1. Open the Tools dashboard and select Report Administration. The Reporting Services Administration screen is displayed.
  2. Select Report Management > Maintain Report Permissions.
  3. Select the report permissions that you want to set as the default. Changes to defaults are immediate.
