Creating a data source connection

  1. Open the Tools dashboard and select Report Administration. The Reporting Services Administration screen is displayed.
  2. Select Server Administration > New Data Source. The Data Source screen is displayed.
  3. Specify this information:
    Name
    Specify a name for the data source.
    Description
    Optionally, specify a description for the data source.
    Type
    Select the connection type.
    Note: If you are setting up an ODBC data source to use with Crystal Server, use the Crystal ODBC driver. You must install the Crystal ODBC driver to any machine used for designing reports and the Crystal Server as well. When designing reports with an ODBC data source, select drivers with the CR prefix. Follow this process for all database types except SQL.

    Additionally, If you are setting up an OLEDB data source to use with Crystal Server, you can use Infor OLEDB Object Services.

  4. Specify this Drill Around information:
    Lawson IOS Service
    Specify the default IOS service ID that was specified in the Framework Services System Configuration Assistant. Drill strings using Drill (IDA), Data (DME), Transaction (AGS), or OLAP requests use this setting to retrieve data from Lawson Applications.
    Lawson Portal Service
    Specify the default Portal Service ID that was specified in the Framework Services System Configuration Assistant. Drill strings using TKN requests use this setting to retrieve data from Lawson Applications.
  5. Click Next. The Data Source Maintenance screen is displayed where the upper fields are populated from the previous create screen.
