Scheduling the import of rights files

Use Schedule Import Rights to automatically import files containing rights information.

  1. Open the Tools dashboard and select Report Administration. The Reporting Services Administration screen is displayed.
  2. Select Rights Management > Schedule Import Rights. The Schedule Import Rights page is displayed.
  3. Specify this information:
    Import Type
    Select File. This is the default option.
    Import File Path
    Specify the path, file name, and file type. The file can be saved in a shared folder. For example, \\PHMAW127\Rights\RightsImport.csv
    Enabled
    Select True to enable this feature. Otherwise, select False to disable it.
  4. For JNDI mapping, specify the needed information as stated in "To map a JNDI resource" in Importing rights.
  5. Specify the schedule time and frequency information:
    Scheduled Run Time
    Specify the time that you want the report to run. This field is hidden on Extended Schedule Options, wherein the specified effective start time determines the first scheduled run.
    Frequency – Schedule for Days in Week
    Select if you want the report to run on a specific week day or days, for example, Friday or Friday and Sunday. This option runs based on a trigger that uses CRON expressions.
    Frequency – Schedule for Days in a Month
    Select if you want the report to run on a specific month day, for example, the fifth day of the month or the last day of the month. This option runs based on a trigger that uses CRON expressions.
    If you want the schedule to repeat, select Repeats Every and specify how many months you want the report to run.
    Frequency – Extended Schedule Options
    Select if you want the report to run based on a calendar interval trigger. This includes hourly, bi-weekly, and monthly scheduling. If you want the schedule to repeat, select Repeats Every and specify how many months or hours you want the report to run.
    Effective Start Date
    Specify the effective start date.
    Expiration Date
    Optionally, specify an expiration date for the import process.
  6. Click Save.

    After saving the scheduled importing of a CSV, XML, or JSON file, check the status of the imports under Schedule Details. Logs from last scheduled run indicates whether the import was successful, the file contains errors, or the file does not exist. If you encounter a message that the file does not exist, check the path that you specified in the Import File Path.
