Use this procedure to specify the Crystal Report's default output type, for example, .pdf or .xls.

  2. Click the etails link corresponding to the report for which you want to specify the default output types. The Report Details screen is displayed.
  3. Select Report Options > Output Options. The Output Options screen is displayed.
  4. Select the output type in Default Output Type.
  5. In the Allowed Output Options Types area, specify which output types you want to associate with the report. You can select more than one option. Users may select from the options you check.

If the report contains parameters and the user selects the View and Cache option, Reporting Services adds the Cache Instance of Report field to the Parameter Entry screen. Users can deselect the check box if they do not want to create historical instances of the report.

If the report does not contain parameters and the user selects the View and Cache option, Reporting Services presents the report in the browser and creates a historic instance of the report only when the user views the historic instance.

If this option is selected and the user selects the View with Data Refresh option, Reporting Services presents the report in the browser but does not create a historic instances of the report.
