Maintaining a data source connection

Note: The fields that are displayed on the Data Source screen depend on the connection type you are working on.
  1. Specify this information:
    Additional Connection Attributes
    Check Queue Frequency
    Specify a check queue frequency. Values range from 1 to 90 minutes. The default in 5 minutes. This value specified how often Reporting Services polls the Application server for new reports that have been run.
    Confirm Password
    Specify the password again.
    Data Area
    Specify the database and product line for the connection. The data area can be a product line or a project.
    Database or SID/Service Name
    Specify the database or SID or service name for the connection.
    Database Type
    Specify a database type. These are the values:
    • SQL Server
    • Oracle
    • DB2
    • Other
    DSN
    Password
    Specify the password used to access the connection.
    Port
    Specify the port number for the server, for example 8080. These are the default port numbers:
    • SQL Server: 1433
    • DB2: 50000
    • Oracle: 1521
    Provider Name
    Specify the provider name of the connection.
    Queue Directory
    The location of the instance queue directory. Normally this is on the Reporting Services server.
    RW100 Alternative URL
    Specify the RW100 alternative URL.

    Schema
    Specify the schema, which is the structure of the database that defines the objects in the database. The default value is dbo.
    Server
    Specify the name of the server.
    Service Name
    Status
    Specify the status of the connection. Values are Enable and Disable.
    User Name
    Specify the user name used to access the connection. If you do not specify a user name, users will be prompted for a user name and password when they access the reports from this data source. If you specify a user name and password, Reporting Services defaults this information and the user is automatically logged into the report.
    Note: If the data source is connecting to an ADFS authenticated server, the user name depends on the type of connection:
    • For http/https: The Identity should be used as the user name (with domain), for example, testuser@infor.com.
    • For socket: The Resource Manager ID should be used as the user name (without domain), for example, testuser.
    DB Override Option
    If the data source has several schema and the data source requires to connect to the schema set in the report, set the override option to 1- doNotVerifyDB to retrieve data from the correct schema.
  2. If prompted, specify the IOS Connection Attributes information:
    IOS Web Directory
    Specify the IOS Web Directory for the IOS connection. For example, cgi-lawson.
    IOS Communication Protocol
    Specify the IOS communication protocol type for the IOS connection:
    • http
    • https
    • Socket

    If you are connecting to an ADFS 3.0 authenticated server, select the socket for the IOS communication protocol.

    The IOS Communications protocol options only apply to Lawson Data Connection data source types.

    The socket services are configured in Framework Services. For more information, see the Framework Services Administrator and User Guide.

  3. Optionally, click Test Saved Connection to verify the credentials that you provided.
  4. Click Save.
