Setting up Infor Lawson Role Migration

Use the procedures in this section to run Infor Lawson Role Migration and assign Reporting Services elements to dimensions in the OLAP database.

Use the steps below to launch the Infor Lawson Role Migration tool and map Reporting Services elements to dimensions in the OLAP database.

  1. Double-click LRMLauncher.exe.
  2. On the Analysis Services tab, specify this information:
    Server
Specify the name of the OLAP server.
Note: Run Infor Lawson Role Migration on the same domain as the OLAP server.
    Database
    Select the OLAP database.
  3. Click Next.
  4. On the Reporting Services tab, specify this information:
    Connection
Specify the fully qualified name of the Reporting Services installation. For example, http://server.company.com:9080/ers
  5. Click Retrieve Structures.
  6. Specify this information:
    Structures
Select the structures you want to include. The tool will create a tab for each structure you select.
  7. Click Next.
  8. On the LRS rights tab, select any structure or right combination you do not want the tool to process.
Note: Use this option when you do not want to process certain structure or right combination because it is not generating the desired OLAP security definition.
  9. Click Next.
  10. On the tab for each structure, specify this information:
    Access
Select the access for each cube. Values are:
    • None

      Denies access to the cube.

    • Read

Allows users of the role to read from the cube. This is the most common access permission.

    • Read/Write

Allows users of the role to read from and write to the cube.

Note: Use this option if you want to give users the ability to write back and change data in the cube.
    Cube Drillthrough
Select the cube drillthrough for each cube. Values are:
    • None

      No drillthrough.

    • Drillthrough

Allows users to quickly drill to a defined level of detail.

  11. On the tab for each structure, map the element to the dimension and the dimension attribute.
Note: Each element can map to a different dimension or a different attribute in the same dimension.

    Specify this information:

    Dimension
Assign each element from Reporting Services a value in the cube.
Note: Typically each element is mapped to the same dimension but different attributes.
    Attribute
Select the dimension that the attribute element values will be associated to.
    Parent Element
The parent element is used when the dimension attribute is not unique to itself. If the attribute in Microsoft Analysis Services has additional attribute keys, you will need to use the parent element functionality.

The parent element represents the additional attribute key in OLAP. The parent element values are appended to the attribute construct.

  12. When you have set the rights for each structure, click Run Now. The process creates a log file.
  13. Review the log file to verify the rights. This line displays for every right DimensionPermission AllowedSet

For each right, the log file will list out the OLAP properties that were set.

  14. After verifying the rights, save the process as an .xml file.
  15. Click Save. You can use this file to run a scheduled task in Windows, SQL Server Agent, or Infor Process Automation.
