Installation values

Before you begin the installation, set up installation values and naming conventions for your Infor BI for Lawson installation.

Use the information in this section as a guideline when setting up a naming convention for your installation.

  1. Base Installation Directory

    This value is set during installation. The default is:

    C:\InforLawsonBI

    Note: As a best practice, select another drive for your installation.

    You can use the default installation value, however we recommend that you establish a naming convention for different systems you may install.

    For example:

    • LBIPROD

      For your production system.

    • LBITEST

      For your test system.

    • LBIDEV

      For your development system.

  2. WebSphere Installation Directory.

    This value is set during installation of WebSphere. The default is C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere\AppServer.

    Note: As a best practice, select another drive for your installation and use a path without spaces.

    For example:

    L:\IBM\WebSphere\AppServer

  3. WebSphere Application Server Name

    This value is set during the installation of WebSphere.

    The default for new WebSphere installations is server1.

    Note: As a best practice, match the values with those used for your base installation directory.

    For example:

    • LBIPROD

    • LBITEST

    • LBIDEV

  4. WebSphere Profile Name

    This value is set during installation of WebSphere. The default for a new WebSphere installation is AppSrv01.

    Note: As a best practice, match the values with those used for your base installation directory.

    For example:

    • LBIPROD

    • LBITEST

    • LBIDEV

Default configuration checklist

Infor BI for Lawson offers a streamlined installation when you use certain defaults. Using the defaults is optional.

Note: If you have already set up different values or want to specify your own based on company naming standards, you must provide those values during the installation.

  • The databases use the Infor BI for Lawson default names:

    • Framework Services: LawsonFS

    • Reporting Services: LawsonRS

    • Smart Notification: LawsonSN

  • WebSphere data sources use the suggested default JNDI values:

    • Framework Services: jdbc/LawsonFS

    • Reporting Services: jdbc/LawsonRS

    • Smart Notification: jdbc/LawsonSN

  • WebSphere default application names can be unique on your server. For example:

    • Framework Services

    • Reporting Services

    • Smart Notification

  • WebSphere default context names can be unique on your server. For example:

    • Framework Services: efs

    • Reporting Services: ers

    • Smart Notification: lsn
