Infor BI for Lawson Upgrade
Each of the Infor BI for Lawson applications must be updated individually.
If you have Reporting Services, Smart Notification, or both, you must complete this entire procedure again for each in turn.
Restart the WebSphere server before the upgrade to ensure WebSphere has no locked files.
- Close all open Windows applications.

Launch the
BUSINT-INSTALL-10-6-x-y-z-Faa-Rbb-Scc.exe
file to display the Getting Started screen.Note: The name of the file you launch may differ fromBUSINT-INSTALL-10-6-x-y-z-Faa-Rbb-Scc.exe
if you are not using the full installer file. - Verify that the release level is 10.6.0.x. Click Next.
- On the Select Install Option screen, select the Update Existing Products option. Click Next.

Select the Infor BI for Lawson product to update.
Note: Only one product can be updated at a time. You must complete this procedure in its entirety for each installed product.
Click Next.

On the Update Directory screen, specify the location of the directory
where the application was previously installed. For example:
C:\InforLawsonBI\FrameworkServices
Click Next.

On the Select Web Application screen, select the application server you
are using for the product being updated.

WebSphere

If you are installing Reporting Services, ensure the location of the
Crystal RAS library is correct.
The default location is:
C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\java\lib
Click Next.

On the Identify WebSphere Information screen, specify this
information.
- WebSphere Application Server Name
-
Provide the server name for the application server within WebSphere where your applications are installed. The WebSphere default value is
server1
. - Profile Name
-
Provide the profile name for the application server installation. The WebSphere default value is
AppSrv01
. - WebSphere Install Root Directory
-
Provide the specific path to the WebSphere installation directory for your WebSphere installation.
The WebSphere default location is
C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere\AppServer
.
Click Next.
Note: In most cases, selections entered during the original product installation are set correctly for the update procedure. -
On the WebSphere Global Security screen, specify this
information.
Note: If you do not have Global Security enabled in WebSphere, leave the fields blank and click Next.
- Global Security Userid

Provide the user ID for Global Security in WebSphere.
- Global Security Password

Provide the password for Global Security in WebSphere.
- Global Security Password Confirmation

Provide the password for Global Security in WebSphere.
Click Next.

On the WebSphere Settings screen, specify this information.
- Application Name
-
Provide the name of the Infor BI for Lawson application being updated (for example, Framework Services).
- Specify the directory where the application EAR folder exists

Provide the exact path to the application EAR folder.
The default for Framework Services is:
C:\<LBI_HOME>\FrameworkServices
Click Next.

On the Database Repository screen, select the database you are using
with Infor BI for Lawson.

Oracle
-
MSSQL
Click Next.
The Horizontal Configuration Update check box is for horizontal scaling only. For more information, see Installing horizontal scaling.

Provide or browse to the location of the JDBC database driver jar file
location.
See the compatibility matrix in Infor Customer Portal on which JDBC driver to use.

For MS SQL: On the MS SQL Database User Settings screen, specify
this information.
Note: If you are installing Oracle, skip this step.
- Host system where the LBI applications database resides
-
Replace the default with the name of the MS SQL server. The name usually takes the form MyServer.MyCompany.com, for example: d2kp.lawson.com.
- Port number on which the database server listens

Provide a valid port number. The default is 1433.
- Name of the Database
-
Provide the name of the Framework Services database that was created in SQL Server.
- Name of the User login
-
Provide the name of the Framework Services user that was created in SQL Server.
- Password for the User login
-
Provide the password of the Framework Services user that was created in SQL Server.
Click Next.

For Oracle: On the Oracle Database Server Settings screen,
specify this information.
Note: If you are installing MS SQL, skip this step.
- Database Server Name
-
Provide the name of the database server where Oracle is installed.
- Oracle Port
-
Provide the port for the Oracle database server. The default is 1521.
- Oracle SID (system ID)

Provide the Oracle System ID.
- Username
-
Provide the name of the Framework Services user that was created in Oracle.
- Password
-
Provide the password of the Framework Services user that was created in Oracle.
- On the Ready to Update screen, click Install.

For Framework Services upgrade:
After you update Framework Services, restart WebSphere.
Note: This clears and reestablishes the database connections.

Complete the update for all the installed products.
For troubleshooting, use the log files in:
C:\temp\LBIlog\lbi_err.log
C:\InforLawsonBI\FrameworkServices\Update-version#-xxx\UninstallerData\Logs\Infor_Lawson_BI_xxxx.log
C:\InforLawsonBI\FrameworkServices\Update-version#-xxx\Websphere_log.txt
- After the updates are complete, perform the post-installation procedures and validation.
