Setting the Crystal Reports isolation level

Use this procedure to set the isolation level in Crystal Reports to run SQL transactions as read uncommitted. You can use this setting to run complicated queries in Crystal Reports.

Edit the Windows Registry for every Crystal Reports server that you are using.

Note: If you are using Oracle as your database, then skip this procedure.

As a best practice, back up the Windows Registry before editing.

  1. Launch the Registry Editor.
  2. Under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, navigate to Software > WOW6432Node > SAP BUSINESSOBJECTS > Suite XI 4.0 > Crystal Reports > Database.
  3. Under the Database node, create a new ODBC key by selecting Edit > New > Key.
  4. Under the ODBC key, create a new DWORD (32 bit) property named IsolationLevel and set the value to 1.
