Register M3 services

Before you create the services, establish a naming convention based on the providertype field.

  1. Navigate to Tools > Services.
  2. Click Services.
  3. Click the Services menu icon. Click New Service to open the Register Service screen.
  4. Specify the values in these fields to define the service.
    ID

    The ID is a combination of the providerid and type fields.

    For example: MVX-PROGRAM-render

    name

    Provide a name for the dashboard link.

    providerid

    This drives the name of the module on the Tools dashboard.

    providertype

    This groups items in the same module on the Tools dashboard.

    type

    Specify the type. Types include homepage, admin, render, and search depending on function.

    version

    Provide the version.

    location

    Provide the URL for the program.

  5. Click Register.
